When I Grow Up I Want To Be A Novelist

1.
I’ve decided to let this one ring and have a life of its own. Life is too short for this to be too long and familiar structures are long forgotten. This is the part where you sigh, get up and walk out of the room. You must be getting used to leaving me by now. I guess you never were one to sit still. We could have become friends but you made plans that didn’t involve me. I look at old photos and I wish I could have seen it then but my eyes were shut tight. We’ve made it through a Christmas and a tour before it all went to the dogs. If somebody must take the blame, I’d say it’s you but I don’t blame you. It all seems a little pointless when you can’t be with your favorite person. I’ll wait and waste away because someday you might find a way home. There are only so many of your favorite movies that I can make myself sit through. Soon nothing here will smell of you and I will have to hug you in dreams. I’m sleepless and unable to keep my eyes open. I’m dreaming the days away and still the phone won’t ever ring and if it does it’s hardly ever for me.
